Emily in Paris parte deux has officially been released on Netflix – something of an early Joyeux Noel from the streaming service.

The series, created by Sex and the City writer Darren Star, charmed fans with its first series in 2020, as it introduced the world to Lily Collins’ scrappy Emily, who moves from Chicago to Paris to pursue a career in marketing and PR.

With swoon-worthy love interests like Lucas Bravo’s Gabriel and sartorial delights conjured up by legendary costume designer Patricia Field, the series was a sight for sore eyes as the world faced many lockdowns in 2020.

Luckily, season two promises even more visual treats, from Emily’s wardrobe to the wanderlust-inducing scenery of Paris.

Here we run through some of the filming locations from Emily in Paris to add to your Paris bucket list for when it’s safe to travel freely again…

Place de Valois

This is the location that acts as the setting for Emily’s new marketing firm, working with the icy Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) and the sassy Julien (Samuel Arnold).

In the show the agency is located at Place de Valois, an upmarket square next to the Palais Royal. Emily and her co-workers often drink at the Bistro Valois located nearby, which is a real life bistro tourists can visit. Considering the Place de Valois’ close proximity to attractions like the Louvre, you might want to pop here for lunch before going to see works of art like the Mona Lisa.

Address: Pl. de Valois, 75001, Paris. Nearest Metro: Palais Royal – Musée du Louvre station

The building Emily moves into – where she first meets her hunky neighbour Gabriel – is located at the Place de l’Estrapade, a square in the 5th arrondissement of Paris.

Address: Pl. de l’Estrapade, 75005, Paris. Nearest Metro: The Cardinal Lemoine station

Jardin du Luxembourg

The Luxembourg Gardens are a well-known attraction in Paris so it’s no surprise Emily finds herself walking and jogging there to clear her head.

The gardens cover over 56 acres and are renowned for their lawns, tree-lined promenades, tennis courts, flowerbeds, model sailboats on the octagonal Grand Bassin, as well as the picturesque Medici Fountain, built in 1620. There are also over 100 sculptures in the gardens, including a replica of the Statue of Liberty.

The gardens are free to enter.

Address: Jardin du Luxembourg, 75006, Paris. Nearest Metro: Saint-Sulpice station (roughly a 10 minute walk)

Place du Panthéon

The Pantheon, or the temple of the French nation, is an astounding building which is only a short distance away from Emily’s apartment.

With the Pantheon, architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot fulfilled Louis XV’s wish to glorify the monarchy in the form of a church dedicated to Saint Geneviève, the patron saint of Paris. In the show, Emily breaks up with her boyfriend back in Chicago while stood in front of the dramatic building.

Address: Pl. du Panthéon, 75005, Paris Nearest Metro: The Cardinal Lemoine station

Café de l’Homme

Featured in the first series during the launch party for one of Emily’s clients, the Café de l’Homme is a must stop for any fan wanting magnifique views of the Eiffel Tower.

Located inside the Trocadero, the café is a gorgeous destination bar and benefits from being near several Paris museums like the Musée de l’Homme, the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine, the Musée Guimet, the Palais de Tokyo, the Palais Galliera and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent.

Address: Café de l’Homme, 17 place du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre, Paris 16th. Nearest Metro: Trocadero

Pont Alexandre III

The Pont Alexandre III is more than just a bridge, it’s a listed monument. The deck arch bridge spans the Seine and widely regarded as the most ornate, extravagant bridge in the city.

It has been classified as a French monument historique since 1975.

In the series, Emily and her team shoot the campaign for a perfume here.

Address: Pont Alexandre III, Paris 7th Nearest Metro: The Invalides station

L’Atelier des Lumières

A must for art lovers, L’Atelier des Lumières houses digital, immersive exhibitions – like the one seen in the show where Emily and Gabriel flirt against the backdrop of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

Address: 38 rue Saint-Maur, Paris 11th Nearest Metro: Rue Saint-Maur station

Musée des Arts Forains

Although a private funfair museum for most of the year, the Musée des Arts Forains, found within Pavillons de Bercy, is open to the general public during the European Heritage Days and over the Christmas holidays (when it hosts the Festival du Merveilleux, or festival of wonder).

Visitors can also book in for a private tour.

The museum houses vintage funfair attractions, like a bicycle merry-go-round, carousels that are more than 100 years old, and many other funfair games.

In the series, Emily attends a party at this location.

Address: 53 Av. des Terroirs de France, 75012 Paris Nearest Metro: Cour Saint-Émilion

Palais Garnier

The Palais Garnier or Opéra Garnier, is a nearly-2000 seat opera house at the Place de l’Opéra in the 9th arrondissement of Paris.

It was built for the Paris Opera from 1861 to 1875 at the behest of Emperor Napoleon III.

It is where Emily and Thomas are meant to see Swan Lake in the first series – but where she ends up leaving him instead after realising he is a snob. Still, it gave fans some major wanderlust, with the grand palace and Emily dressed to the nines in a Christian Siriano ballgown.

Address: Pl. de l’Opéra, 75009 Paris Nearest Metro: Opéra station

La Maison Rose

Restaurants don’t get more French or more Instagram-worthy than La Maison Rose in Montmartre.

Emily and her pal Mindy dine at this establishment known for its iconic pink and green architecture, and the colour scheme plus surrounding areas make it a must for fans looking for a chic eatery.

Address: 2 Rue de l’Abreuvoir, 75018 Paris Nearest Metro: The Lamarck – Caulaincourt station
