THERE’S nothing worse than shelling out for an avocado, only to find it’s rotten when you cut it open.
But one savvy shopper has revealed a nifty trick that will help you select the perfect avocado every time.

By removing the cap at the bottom of the avocado, you can see whether or not it’s a good one[/caption]

You should be able to see green beneath the cap for a perfect avocado[/caption]
TikTok user MommyLifeSquad took to the social media site to share a video in which she explained that you can tell how good the fruit is by removing the “cap” from the bottom.
“Pinch off the cap,” she began, before adding: “If it’s white, it’s rotten.”
“If brown, it’s about to go bad,” she continued.
What you want to look out for is an avocado that’s green beneath the cap.
“If it’s green, it’s perfect,” she concluded.
Viewers were quick to praise the woman for the hack, with one writing: “wow. I learned something new today.”
