Kurdistan, Amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Turkey has launched a military operation in Iraq. Turkey has launched a military offensive in northern Iraqi Kurdistan. Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akre has confirmed this.
Turkey’s defense minister said Turkish fighter planes, helicopters and drones were targeting Kurdish fighters and attacking their camps, tunnels, shelters and weapons depots.
The Defense Minister said that targets belonging to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party were targeted from Turkey. He further added that Turkish military commandos have also entered the Iraqi border.
Defense Minister Hulusi Aker said Turkish fighter jets had successfully attacked PKK-linked shelters, bunkers, tunnels-mines, weapons depots and headquarters. Kurdish fighters have set foot in northern Iraq and are using the area to attack Turkey.
The defense minister said that Turkey had carried out air and ground operations against Kurdish fighters across several borders in recent decades. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruiting center in the northern city of Matina, Jap, and the town of Avshin-Basyan.
Turkey has cracked down on several bases of the PKK organization of Kurdish fighters. The PKK has also been declared a terrorist organization by the United States and the European Union. He lives in Iraq, Syria, Iran and Armenia. Their population is about 2.5 to 3 crores. In that, the Kurds have been constantly demanding the creation of a new country of their own. He has also resorted to referendum for this.
In the midst of all this, a big explosion took place in Istanbul, Turkey on Monday. Ten people were injured. Rescue operations were launched after an explosion in Istanbul’s Beyoglu district. The bomber struck shortly after noon in the underground cable line of a residential building.
