Although the number of corona cases in Shanghai has decreased compared to last week, the total number of new cases in the city is higher. Wu Qianyu, an official with the Shanghai Health Authority, reported 3,084 local cases and 17,332 cases of local asymptomatic infection.
From February 26 to April 18, the city reported 27,613 locally confirmed cases and admitted 21,717 patients, 21 of whom are in critical condition, the official said.
