New Delhi, Rajasthan Royals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 3 runs thanks to Ryan Parag’s smashing half century and impressive performance of his bowlers. This is RR’s sixth win in IPL 202. The RR team led by Sanju Samson has reached the top of the points table with 12 points from eight matches. This is the Royal Challengers’ sixth defeat in nine matches.
Chasing the 18-run target given to Rajasthan, the RCB team managed to score only 114 runs in 18.3 overs. Captain Faf du Plessis was the top scorer with 4 runs.
RCB’s decision to send Virat Kohli to the opening did not go down well. Kohli returned to the pavilion with 3 runs. He was caught out by Ryan Parag in the famous Krishna bowling. After losing Virat’s wicket for 10 runs, RCB got two more tweaks on the score of 9. Captain Faf du Plessis started with 3 runs.
Kuldeep Sen caught Glenn Maxwell at the hands of Devdutt Padikal on the very next ball and made him his second victim. Rajat Patidar was bowled by Ashwin for 18, while Suyash Prabhudesai caught Ashwin by the hand of Parag.
Dinesh Karthik was run out for six. Shahbaz Ahmed scored 16 runs. He was caught by Ryan Parag off Ashwin. Kuldeep Sen caught Vanindu Hasaranga off his own ball for a personal score of 12. Mohammad Siraj was out for 3 runs.
For RR, R Ashwin took three wickets and Kuldeep Sen four while the famous Krishna took two wickets. Ryan Parag hit an unbeaten half-century amid tight bowling from Royal Challengers Bangalore, but RR still managed to score 16 for 9 due to the failure of his veteran batsmen.
Parag scored an unbeaten 4 off 21 balls, including three fours and four sixes. Captain Sanju Samson scored 4 off 21 balls but his irresponsible shot put his team on the backfoot. There were no fours or sixes in the middle till 4 balls but the efforts of Parag had scored 50 runs in the last two overs.
Jaish was the most successful bowler for Hazlewood (19/3), Vanindu Hasaranga (2/3) and Mohammad Siraj (20/3) but his fielding was not good.
