New Delhi, Playing in the IPL T20 cricket tournament for the first time, the Gujarat Titans team has entered the final of IPL-204 by continuing its impressive performance.
In the first qualifier played at the Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata on Tuesday, the Gujarat Titans once again put on a superb batting performance to beat the Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets to reach the final. Gujarat Titans won the toss and invited Rajasthan Royals to bat first.
With the help of Jess Butler’s 9-run innings and skipper Sanju Samson’s aggressive batting, Rajasthan Royals scored a solid 19 for six in 20 overs. However, the Gujarat batsmen put up a strong performance and the team led by Hardik Pandya won the match by 181 runs for the loss of three wickets in 18.4 overs. Gujarat needed 18 runs in the final over to win.
David Miller hit a six off the first three balls of the famous Krishna’s over to give the team the victory. He played an unbeaten 3 and match winning innings. However, Rajasthan still has a chance to reach the final.
The second qualifier between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants will be played on Wednesday. The winning team of this match will reach the eliminator and this team will face Rajasthan Royals. The Gujarat Titans are playing in the IPL for the first time and their performance has been the best throughout the tournament. He had a target of 16 runs in the first qualifier.
The Gujarat team lost the wicket of Riddhiman Saha on the second ball. But then Gujarat won with the help of brilliant batting from Shubhaman Gill, Matthew Wade, skipper Hardik Pandya and David Miller.
