Take meat off the BBQ early
Right before you think your meat is actually done, take it off the grill.
Since meat continues cooking once it’s taken off the heat, removing it a couple of minutes early will mean that it’s cooked to perection.
The BBQ pros said: “A lot of people tend to pull the food off when it looks done and end up sad and disappointed when it turns tough or loses that pink colour.”
A good rule of thumb is “if the meat comes off the grill easily, it’s ready to go, If it sticks to the racks you want to keep it on longer.”
Get perfect grill marks
If you really want to impress your BBQ guests, having restaurant style grill marks on your meat will wow them.
According to barbequelovers.com, the key is to imagine that your BBQ grill is a clock.
Then just angle your meat towards 10 o’clock and let it cook for half the time before flipping it towards two o’clock.
Wait until your charcoal is grey
We get it, you’re excited to indulge in some delicious burgers.
But if you don’t wait until the charcoal in your BBQ is grey it means it’s not hot enough.
Once they’re grey and glowing it’s time to go!
Only flip your meat once
The grill masters said only flipping your meat once will mean your burgers are more juicy.
They said: “You may be subconsciously flipping because you’ve been overcome by the power of the tongs, but flipping repeatedly causes a lot of natural juices to fall off the meat.
“Cook one side fully then flip it over and let the other side do its thing.”
