Zomato’s electric vehicle will get the power of Geo-BP
Geo-BP, a fuel and mobility joint venture between Mumbai, RIL and BP, today announced that it has entered into an agreement to support Zomato’s commitment to the Climate Group’s EV100 initiative to build a 100% electric vehicle fleet by 2030.
Under the agreement, Zomato will provide EV mobility services to Zomato with access to a Geo-BP Pulse branded battery swapping station for last-mile delivery.
Using the best capabilities of RIL and BP in electrification, Geo-BP is building an ecosystem that will benefit all stakeholders in the EV value chain. Last year, Geo-BP built and launched two of India’s largest EV charging hubs.
The joint venture’s electric mobility business provides charging infrastructure to Indian customers, operating under the ‘Geo-BP Pulse’ brand. With the Geo-BP Pulse mobile app, customers can easily find nearby charging stations and charge their EVs without any hassle.
The joint venture is poised to accelerate the adoption of EVs in the fast-growing Indian delivery and transportation segment.
High-performance batteries result in the best on-road range and swapping takes only two minutes, battery swapping is becoming an ideal solution for two- and three-wheeled vehicles, especially for those operating in the last-mile delivery segment. Battery swapping therefore plays a major role in last mile delivery and electrification of the passenger segment.
