New Delhi, Shri Ashwini Vaishnav, Minister for Railways, Communications and Electronics and Information Technology, today co-chaired a meeting of the 17th Joint Committee from the Indian side to discuss and decide on all important issues related to the implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project.
Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Dr. Mori Masafumi co-chaired the meeting on behalf of the Japanese party. During the meeting a presentation and video film on the progress of the project was shown. In addition, issues related to funding, contracts and implementation for mutual resolution and targeted commissioning of the project were discussed.
The meeting of the Joint Committee between the Government of India and the Government of Japan is a supreme advisory body for advancing projects of mutual interest and benefit. The Government of Japan is committed to funding MAHSR projects with soft loans and technical and financial assistance.
The meeting was fruitful and meaningful and strategic issues were finalized to complete the project as soon as possible. Both sides agreed to work with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s One Project-One team in the overall interest of the project.HS2KP
