New Delhi, Team India has been announced for the West Indies tour. Shikhar Dhawan has been made the captain of Team India for the tour while Ravindra Jadeja will be the vice-captain. After the T20 and ODI series in England, India will travel to the West Indies, where three ODIs will be played.
Team India was announced by the BCCI on Wednesday. In which senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Jaspreet Bumrah have been rested.
Team India for ODI series against West Indies: Shikhar Dhawan (captain), Ravindra Jadeja (vice-captain), Rituraj Gaekwad, Shubhaman Gill, Deepak Hooda, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan (wicket keeper), Sanju Semmer , Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Akshar Patel, Avesh Khan, Famous Krishna, Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh
Some names are back in the ODI team. Among them are names like Sanju Samson, Akshar Patel, Mohammad Siraj while Ishaan Kishan and Shubhaman Gill have also been given a chance in the series.
West Indies tour of India: 1st ODI on 2nd July, 4pm, 2nd ODI on 2nd July, 3pm, 3rd ODI on 2nd July, 5pm, 1st T20I on 2nd July, 2nd T20I on 1st August, 3rd T20I on 2nd August , 4th T20 ૬ August, 5th T20 ૭ August.
At present, the team has been announced only for the ODI series while the announcement for the T20 series will be made later.
Senior players are likely to return for the five-match T20 series as it is a crucial series in preparation for the T20 World Cup.
