Many Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across the country have worked with small and marginal farmers to create sustainable and meaningful partnerships.
BENGALURU- Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today announced that it has trained over 10,000 farmers across the country to provide them with nationwide market access and grow their businesses. Flipkart has trained over 10000 farmers on product quality and food safety to enable market access and empower the farmer community.
Flipkart Grocery, as part of its commitment to handhold farmers in their digital journey, has assisted several Farmer Producer Organizations (AFRIOS) in their ongoing efforts to provide a connected and stable platform to the farming community and Farmer Producer Organizations across the country.
Flipkart conducted a training and capacity building program to train FPOSs to follow quality criteria on the e-commerce platform to further strengthen the production capacity of FPOSs, small and marginal farmers.
The training and education covers everything from production, raw material supply, repackaging centers, product quality control, purchasing policy, purchase orders, payment terms and conditions and logistics. All this has been done through virtual and on-ground training sessions.
Flipkart has partnered with FPOs and small and partial farmers in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Through this collaboration, Flipkart will bring sourcing of pulses, millets and whole spices to the platform and will impact the livelihood of thousands of farmers.
Flipkart has several on-board FOPs across the country, including ABY Farmers, Sri Sathya Sai MAC Fed, Janjivan Nirala Herbal, Sahyadri Farm Supply Chain and others. The Flipkart Marketplace gives them access to reach over 400 million customers across the country.

Flipkart Grocery currently offers its convenience in over 1800 cities and over 10,000 pincodes across 28 states of India.
