Since then, many cities in Ukraine have been devastated and millions of people have been left homeless. India has made a statement in the United Nations Security Council regarding the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
Indian Permanent Mission Councilor Pratik Mathur told UNSC that India is very concerned about the situation in Ukraine and we support all efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of Ukraine. The conflict has resulted in loss of life and untold suffering for its own people, especially women, children and the elderly. He further said that we believe that no compromise can be reached at the cost of innocent lives.
We continue to reiterate that the global order is based on international law, the Joint Charter and respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of States. Pratik Mathur said at the UNSC that we support all efforts to alleviate the suffering of the people of Ukraine. We particularly encourage dialogue between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
Prateek Mathur said lakhs of people were rendered homeless and forced to seek refuge in neighboring countries. Since the beginning of the conflict, India has consistently called for a complete cessation of hostilities and has advocated peace, dialogue and diplomacy.ss1
