Mumbai, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the state government has given all approvals to the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project so that the project can be expedited. It is barely 15 years since the change of government in Maharashtra that the project has been given all sorts of approvals.
The previous Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray did not take any steps to expedite the project.
After the Cabinet meeting, Fadnavis told a press conference in Mumbai that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given all approvals to the project. He said the remaining issues were related to forest clearance and land acquisition.
Sources in Delhi said that in the last few days, Shinde cleared the long pending issues related to the project. Sources said the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has directed to shift BPCL’s petrol pump located on a plot in Bandra Kurla Complex so that an underground terminus can be constructed.HS1MS
