A COUPLE were forced to carry their injured dog four miles down Snowdon after mountain railway officials refused to take them.
Danny Pyatt, 28, and fiancée Justyna Popera, 31, spent five hours lugging 70lb German pointer Kilo in 28C (82F) heat after he sprained his hip at the top of the Welsh peak.
They said staff on Snowdon Mountain Railway — which only allows registered support dogs on board — had insisted their trains were full.
Personal trainer Danny said: “We begged them, told them we were in real trouble, but they didn’t seem to care.
“Kilo’s a big dog and very difficult to carry, particularly when he’s wriggling in discomfort. It was one of the toughest physical challenges I have ever endured.”
Danny, who runs a gym in Ascot, Berks, tried various ways of lifting the 19-month-old dog before heaving him over his shoulder while Justyna supported his back legs from behind.

They said trains trundled up and down beside them without helping.
Danny added: “They told us their trains were full, but they let at least one guy hop on board without a ticket.
“They must get struggling hikers begging for free rides all the time, but we were very willing to pay and were genuinely struggling.
“They suggested we call mountain rescue, but they’ve got far more important things to worry about.”

A spokesman for Snowdon Mountain Railway insisted: “The train was completely full.
“As is the correct course of action, our team contacted the mountain rescue emergency service who promptly assisted them with the matter.”
