Earlier, former state minister Partha Chatterjee, who is at the center of the multi-crore school recruitment scam in West Bengal, on Sunday claimed that the money recovered during the Idda raid was not his and only time would tell who was involved in the “conspiracy”.
Chatterjee, who was arrested in this case, was taken to Jaeka hospital for medical examination. After he got down from the vehicle, when reporters questioned him about the scam, he gave this reply. When asked if someone had hatched a conspiracy against him, he said, “You will know when the time comes.”
Later after leaving the hospital, Chatterjee once again said that the money did not belong to him and that he had never been involved in such transactions. According to ED officials, cash worth around Rs 50 crore has been recovered from two apartments of Arpita Mukherjee, a close associate of Chatterjee. Along with this, gold has also been found, the value of which is being estimated.
Earlier on Friday, Chatterjee had said that he was the victim of a conspiracy and expressed displeasure over the Trinamool Congress’s decision to suspend him. “The decision to suspend me may affect the impartial investigation,” he said. Chatterjee, who was once close to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, said about the move to remove her from the ministerial post, her decision was right.SS1MS
