Mumbai, After forming the government in Maharashtra with the Shinde group of the Shiv Sena, the BJP has made a major change in the state. BJP National President JP Nadda has appointed Chandrashekhar Bawankule as the new Maharashtra President. Apart from this, MLA Ashish Shelar has been appointed as the new District President of Mumbai. Both the leaders have been assigned this new responsibility immediately.
Let us tell you that until now the Maharashtra BJP was in the hands of Chandrakant Patil, while the Mumbai unit was headed by Mangal Prabhat Lodha. It is being said that both these changes in the state unit have been made keeping in mind the upcoming BMC elections. Now the next election will be fought under this new leadership.
Former state president Chandrakant Patil has also congratulated Chandrasekhar Bawankule. He tweeted, “I am confident that under his leadership the BJP will fight the Local Self-Government and Municipal Corporation elections with the new Jaish and win resoundingly.” Chandrasekhar Bawankule is a known face of BJP in Maharashtra. He is currently the MLC of Nagpur.
He was elected as MLC in December 2021. Chandrasekhar hails from an OBC community in Bawankule. In such a situation, it is believed that BJP can also benefit from this in Maharashtra.
Chandrasekhar Bawankul has represented the Kamathi assembly seat three times. Bawankule has done grassroots politics. He has also been General Secretary and Member of Zilla Parishad in Nagpur district unit of BJP.HS1MS
