Pune, Rajasthan Warriors captain Majahar Jamadar and Mumbai Khiladis’ Sreejesh S have emerged as the top performers of the opening weekend of Ultimate Kho-Kho Season 1.
Six teams viz., Chennai Quick Guns, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Khiladi, Odisha Juggernauts, Rajasthan Warriors and Telugu Yoddha have participated in Ultimate Hoohoo Season-1 held at Sri Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Mahalung, Pune, Maharashtra. Ultimate Kho – Kho season-1 started from August 14 and will continue till September 4, 2022.
So far these two top performing teams have grabbed everyone’s attention with their outstanding performances in India’s first franchise based league.
Kolhapur lad Jamadar is not only the league’s top scorer with 52 total points but also tops the charts for total sky dives (9) and total high fives (4). The 31-year-old has scored 48 points with attacking dives and out-scoring opposition defenders.
Chennai quick guns Ramji Kashyap (46) and Telugu Yoddhas’ Arun Gunki (32) are second and third respectively in the list of top attackers.
He has won ‘Attacker of the Match Award’ twice and ‘Ultimate Kho of the Match Award’ once in three matches. Rajasthan Warriors skipper Jamadar is giving his all for the team but they are yet to get their first win of the season.
On the other hand, Trivandrum (Kerala)-born Sreejesh has emerged as the top defender in the first week of Ultimate Kho – Kho. He has a time of 7 minutes and 39 seconds followed by Chennai quick guns Ramji Kashyap (7 minutes, 8 seconds) and Mumbai Khiladis’ Vijay Hazare (6 minutes, 31 seconds).
The 27-year-old chaser was instrumental in Mumbai Khiladi’s lone win on Monday, scoring a bonus point in defense and spending nearly three minutes on the field. He was also named defender of the match in that game for his brilliant performance.
Gujarat Giants will take on Odisha Juggernauts on Sunday. While Rajasthan Warriors will play for their first win in the league against Telugu Warriors. Ultimate Kho-Kho promoted by Amit Burman in association with Kho-Kho Federation of India is being telecast live in five languages on Sony Spots Network.
