ChandigarhTo prevent incidents of fuel theft from government buses, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar has constituted depot level raiding teams including 3 state level teams which will conduct continuous raids in the state. The three state level teams are restricted to report directly to the Transport Minister while the depot level teams will report to the concerned General Manager/Depot Manager.
Informing about this, Cabinet Minister Bhullar said that he sought the cooperation of officials and drivers and conductors to prevent incidents of fuel theft in different meetings but still reports of fuel theft from buses are being received. He said that state level raiding teams can conduct raids anytime anywhere and will report directly to him.
During their rotation duty of 8-8 hours a day, 3-3 teams at the depot level will keep a close watch on the respective bus stands and workshops to detect theft of diesel from night-time running and halting buses.
He said that written instructions have been issued to the Group General Manager/Depot Manager to form three teams of inspectors and sub-inspectors at the depot level.
The General Manager/Depot Manager will ensure that the reports of the depot level teams are sent to the headquarters every 15th day.
