Mumbai, India’s star opening batsman Robin Uthappa has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. He has announced his retirement by tweeting.
Robin has been very famous for his aggressive batting and has represented India in both the white ball formats. Robin tweeted and wrote – It has been my greatest honor to represent my country and my state Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end and with a grateful heart I have decided to retire from all formats of Indian cricket.
His career started with the 50 over format. He made his debut against England in Guwahati. During this time he played 46 ODI matches and scored a total of 934 runs. In which 86 was his highest score.
Uthappa’s aggressive style helped him earn a place in the Indian squad for the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup, which India eventually clinched. He was one of those Indian bowlers who hit the stumps during a memorable bowling out between India and Pakistan.HS1MS
