New Delhi, Many of you may remember the 2003 World Cup. It was organized for the first time in South Africa. Meanwhile, there was a lot of discussion about a stadium. This is Pietermaritzburg. Actually there is a big tree here inside the boundary line. So here the rules are slightly different. If the ball hits anywhere in the tree, it counts as four runs.
Only two international matches have been played here so far. Both the matches were organized in the 2003 World Cup. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh faced each other in the first match. While in the second match on 23 February 2003, Team India faced Namibia.
In this match, both Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly scored stunning centuries. India won by 181 runs. After this comes the turn of the St. Lawrence Ground. It is the home ground of Kent Cricket Club. There was a 27 meter tall lemon tree inside the boundary rope in the ground. Namely, it collapsed during high winds in 2005. A new tree was planted in place of a 200-year-old tree.
Another such unique cricket ground is that of Amstelveen in the Netherlands. It is known as Faich Cricket Ground. The ground hosts many high-profile racing matches.
The 1999 World Cup match and the 2004 Videocon Cup match between India, Pakistan and Australia were played here. There is a huge tree inside the farm itself. Namely, the Netherlands has not hosted a high-profile international match in the past decade.SS1MS
