Kolkata, A cash amount of 8.5 crores has been received from a chartered accountant in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The anti-bank fraud section of the intelligence department has recovered an additional amount of two crore rupees from the car of a chartered accountant. After that the Kolkata Police raided the house of C Shailesh Pandey in Shivpur, Howrah.
Cash worth Rs 5.95 crore was recovered during the raid at the house. Kolkata Police has issued a look out notice against Shailesh and his brother Arvind Pandey. According to the information received, 20 crore rupees were also deposited in two bank accounts of CA Shailesh Pandey.
These accounts are being seized and all actions are being taken. Kolkata Police is on the lookout for Shailesh Pandya’s Thalasham. He is said to be absconding. During this raid, the Anti-Bank Fraud Section of Kolkata Police conducted a raid in Howrah at midnight on October 15. Cash worth 2 crore 20 lakh 50 thousand rupees was found during this raid.
All these items were found in one car. After that, the police reached Shailesh Pandya’s house in Shivpur, Howrah. According to the police, the flat was locked. The Anti-Bank Fraud Section team of the police broke the door and seized Rs 8.15 crore worth of cash and jewelery from Shailesh Pandey’s car and house inside the flat.
The police are now searching the possible locations for the arrest of the main accused Shailash Pandya. According to the sources, the Kolkata police have taken this action based on the complaint made by the Canara Bank. Sources claim that the bank administration has started monitoring suspicious transactions in one Canara Bank account.
Canara Bank officials received a complaint of fraud in Kolkata’s Lalbazar area and on its basis, the Anti-Bank Fraud Unit of Kolkata Police’s detective department started an investigation after registering the case. When the car of the accused was searched, 2 crore 20 lakh rupees in cash along with diamonds and other jewelery were also found.
According to the Kolkata Police, the matter is being investigated. Search operations have been conducted at several other places. If the sources of Kolkata Police are to be believed, Shailesh Pandey and other accused have been accused of opening accounts in the name of two companies on the basis of false documents in the Narendrapur branch of Canara Bank at the address of 16 Strand Road Kolkata 70001 and transacting huge sums of money in them. When the flow of money was investigated, several accounts were reported.
Some of the initial transactions scrutinized were money transfers to these Canara Bank accounts on the pretext of online courses linked to foreign exchange trading.
According to Kolkata Police sources, so far it has been found that there are around Rs 20 crore in the accounts of two banks. which may be blocked. Kolkata Police has issued a look out notice against absconding C Shailesh Pandey and his brother Arvind Pandey.
