Mumbai, Sachin Tendulkar feels that Jasprit Bumrah’s absence is a big blow for India in the T20 World Cup but Mohammed Shami can make up for his lack of pace and skill.
Bumrah has been ruled out of cricket indefinitely due to back pain. Shami has been included in the team in his place. As he has not played any international T20 match since last year’s World Cup in UAE. This 32-year-old bowler took 3 wickets in 20 overs in a practice match against Australia in Amroha and gave India a 6-run win.
Tendulkar said, Bumrah’s absence is a big loss because we will definitely lose a strike bowler. A real bowler who can dominate the batsmen and take wickets. Shami has already proved it and is the best option for now. The veteran batsman has also been impressed by young right-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh.
So far, Arshdeep’s performance in international matches has been good. Tendulkar said that Arshdeep has also raised a lot of hopes for the team and is a balanced bowler.
Everything I put into him made him a committed player because when you pay attention to a player, you get to know his mentality. Sachin went on to say that committing to a particular strategy is as important as preparing it.
Sachin Tendulkar said, “I think the best thing is that if Arshdeep has a strategy, he sticks to it and that’s very important these days because batsmen are playing some new types of shots.” So if you have any strategy then it should be implemented completely.
India has to play its matches in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth, where the boundaries are huge. Tendulkar believes that the shape of the field should be kept in mind while selecting the spinners in the final XI. You mostly play in the direction where the ball is turning and some batsmen hit the opposite turn. Along with keeping in mind the ball, the ground, the wind direction should also be taken into account.SS1MS
