Gandhidham, Indian Oil XP95 Gujarat State and Inter District Table Tennis Championship 2022 from Tuesday here KDTTA. With the start at Shri MP Mitra Indoor Stadium, Haresh Sangtani Sports Complex, Adipur, the renowned players from Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara achieved success with resounding victories.
As many as 575 players from 15 districts are representing their districts in this championship organized by Gujarat State Table Tennis Association and played with the cooperation of Sports Authority of Gujarat. IOCL is the main sponsor of the tournament while ACT Group, MR Shah Group and Microsign Products are the co-sponsors of the tournament.
The championship was inaugurated this morning by Bhavesh Kumar Chauhan, DGM IC (Plant), Kandla LPG Import Terminal, IOCL. On this occasion Kutch Area Railway Manager Adish Pathania, ACT Group Director Mrs. Tulsi Suzan, Honorary Minister of GSTTA Kushal Sangtani,
KDTTA Vice Presidents Naresh Bulchandani and Mahesh Gupta, Honorary Minister Manish Hingorani, Joint Ministers Sunil Menon and Kamal Asnani, Treasurer Harikumar Pillai, Founder Members Mahesh Hingorani, Prashant Buch, Rajiv Singh and Honorary Ministers of Aravalli TT Association Rijul Patel and Porbandar TT Association Sanjay Upadhyay etc. were present.
In the Men’s Group-A match, Ahmedabad easily defeated Valsad 3-0. Sauham defeated Jigar while Monish won 3-0 against Bhaveen by the same score and first K. Against Ryan, victory was achieved.
In Group B, Surat won 3-0 against Morbi while in Group C, Vadodara won 3-0 against Anand. In Group D, Bhavnagar and Rajkot defeated Navsari and Kutch respectively by the same margin of 3-0.
In the junior boys category, Navsari and Bhavnagar registered a 3-0 victory over Porbandar and Jamnagar respectively in Group A, while Amreli beat Jamnagar 3-0 in Group B. Het Thakkar won both his singles and doubles matches in this match. Aditya had to face a challenge from Harsh but in the end he won 3-2.
In Group C, Anand beat Kutch 3-0 while in Group D, Aravalli defeated Valsad by the same score.
In the junior girls category, Namana and Rhea put up a brilliant performance in Bhavnagar’s 3-0 win over Kutch. Meanwhile, the Surat team beat Jamnagar 3-0 in which Ernie P and Sanaya A. They won the singles, while Afrin Murad and Hiya won the doubles match.
Navsari won 3-1 against Vadodara after Siddhi Balsara and Trisha P performed brilliantly in Group D.
In the sub junior boys category, Vadodara defeated Navsari and in Group A, Surat defeated Jamnagar by an equal margin of 3-0. In Group B, Ahmedabad and Vadodara defeated Kutch 3-0 and Navsari defeated Porbandar 3-1. Meanwhile, Surat defeated Kutch by 3-0 and Ahmedabad also won against the host team by the same score.
Bhavnagar and Navsari beat Vadodara 3-1 and 3-0 in Group A in the sub-junior girls category. Surat’s Franaz Chipiya and Filzah Fatima Qadri sealed Surat’s 3-0 win over Vadodara in Group B.
