New Delhi, Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the concluding session of the third NMFT Ministerial Conference on Counter Terrorism Financing on Saturday. Meanwhile, he said that without an effective long-term and united fight against all forms of terrorism, we cannot imagine the existence of a fear-free society and a fear-free world. Today, terrorism has assumed such a monstrous form, the impact of which is visible to us at every level.
Terrorism is the biggest challenge to democracy, human rights, economic progress and world peace. We will not let him win. Amit Shah said that we have to fight terrorism and terrorist groups both geographically and virtually. Many such cases have come to light, in which some organizations are promoting terrorism at the national and international levels. These organizations also fund terrorism. He said that no matter how powerful a country or organization is, it cannot fight terrorism alone. The international community has to stand shoulder to shoulder against it.
Without naming the PFI, Amit Shah targeted the PFI and said that India has taken strict action against the organization that spreads fanaticism under the guise of social activities. Other countries should also take such action. Some countries have made terrorism their policy, this should not happen. Amit Shah said that efforts are being made to promote terrorism through narcotics and crypto currency. He said that criminals around the world launder 2 to 3 trillion dollars, in which terrorism is the main one.
The Home Minister further said that non-profit organizations are being used for terror funding, which has to be stopped. All aspects of terror financing have to be tackled. Amit Shah said, time has come to create permanent secretariat of NMFT, decision will be taken soon.
Amit Shah said that to control terrorism, a comprehensive framework has to be created to trace, target and eliminate.
Apart from this, methods of terror ?finance have to be stopped. He said that next generation technology is used for terrorists, it has to be stopped.
