New Delhi, BCCI has announced changes to the 17-member squad for the ODI series on the tour of Bangladesh. The selection of the team was done during the ICC T20 World Cup itself but the replacements for two injured players have been announced before the formation of the new selection committee. BCCI has given information about this in its press release.
The first change to the team is in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, who is yet to recover from a knee injury. In that case he will not go with the team on Bangladesh tour. Shahbaz Ahmed has been given a chance to replace him. Shahbaz was also selected in the ODI against South Africa.
There is no clarity yet on whether Jadeja is part of the Test series against Bangladesh or not. BCCI in its press release said that the medical team is monitoring the fitness of Ravindra Jadeja and only after he is fully fit, his selection in the team will be considered.
Jadeja was injured shortly before the T20 World Cup due to which Akshar Patel was replaced in the team. Apart from Shahbaz Ahmed, Kuldeep Sen has also been given a chance in the team for the ODI series against Bangladesh.
Earlier, when the team was selected, his name was not in the team. But after Yash Dayal’s injury, he has been included in Team India.
