New Delhi, If you are going to travel to UAE, this is important news for you. The United Arab Emirates has issued a new directive on air travel, making it mandatory for passengers to use both their first and second names.
Any passenger not doing so will not be granted entry into the UAE and will have to return. The United Arab Emirates has issued new travel instructions requiring travelers to use both their names, according to an immigration consultancy firm.
Use of any single name will not be accepted. The new circular directs that from November 21, 2022, passengers with only one name will not be allowed to enter the emirate. At the same time, after this directive from UAE, all Indian carriers including Air India Express, SpiceJet and IndiGo have informed travel agents about this new change.
The directive further states that the new naming policy does not apply to people who have valid residence permits or work visas.
The new circular will apply to passengers traveling on tourist, visit or any other type of visa with the same name on their passport. This means that if you are going on a trip or going for some other work, your full name must be on your passport.
The guidelines issued by Air India Express state that if a passenger’s name or surname is blank in the passport, the passport will not be valid. Along with this, visa will not be given along with the passport.
If the visa has been issued earlier, it will be INAD by Immigration. INAD means that it is for travelers who are not allowed to enter the country. Such passengers will be repatriated to their country.SS1MS
