New Delhi, The Congress Mowdi Mandal has approved the name of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu as the new Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh. The Congress has won 40 seats out of 68 seats in Himachal Pradesh. Voting for the assembly elections was held on November 12 and the results were declared on Thursday. Earlier on Friday, observers in Himachal Pradesh along with Chhainzhar in-charge Rajeev Shukla met Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and sought time to hand over the party’s list of winning MLAs and claim to form the government. The two-day-long brainstorming for the name of the Chief Minister in Himachal Pradesh has come to an end.
In which now Sukhwinder Singh will be the new CM of Sukhu state. Earlier, the state Congress President Pratibha Singh was out of the race for the post of Chief Minister. After that the names of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Mukesh Agnihotri were sent to the High Command. While the High Command has put its stamp on the name of Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. While Mukesh Agnihotri has been made the Deputy CM of the state. Denying factionalism in the Congress party, Shukla said no name has emerged for the post of MLA leader and the MLAs unanimously decided that the party leadership should take a decision on it.
He said that the Congress is happy to get the opportunity to form the government in the state and will make all efforts to fulfill the 10 guarantees given to the people and provide better governance. Earlier, Rajiv Shukla met the Governor along with Baghel and Hooda and handed over the list of party’s winning candidates to him. Senior Haryana Congress leader Karan Singh Dalale was part of the Congress delegation that met the Governor.
He told PTI-Bhasha that while giving the list, he said, “We have come to seek time to claim to form the government.” The party has won the assembly elections with a majority. Before the inspectors went to meet the Governor, supporters of state Congress chief Pratibha Singh surrounded his vehicle near a hotel. Shouting slogans, he said that the next Chief Minister should be from the family of Virbhadra Singh. Similar slogans were raised outside the Congress office as well.
