Coir Board’s pavilion bagged second place for its outstanding performance at India’s largest fair ‘India International Trade Fair-2022’. Silver medals have been awarded for best performance in the categories of Ministries and Departments, PSUs, PSBs and Commodity Boards.
In a grand award ceremony, D. Kuppuram, Chairman and J.K. Shukla, Choir Board Secretary received the certificate and silver medal from ITPO CMD Pradeep Singh Kharola.
Silver and Gold Medals are awarded by the Choir Board for the last 2 years. But this time it is more special because many countries of the world participated in it this year.
The Coir Board has taken the initiative to showcase its CCRI developed machines for manufacturing various coir products very effectively. Choir hanging/vertical garden was demonstrated for effective pollution management especially for metro cities.
To create awareness among the public as well as departments to promote eco-friendly/sustainable and organic coir products like coir compost, coir pith, coir geotextile, coir colon and coir kitchen garden articles etc. A demonstration was also held.
Apart from this, coir wood, coir ply furniture items developed by CICT were also showcased this year. Products of 28 entrepreneurs/dispatchers from Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Tamil Nadu etc. were displayed in 14 stalls along with other in-house stalls put up by Choir Board.
