Over 2,000 Crorepati Sellers and 45,000 Millionaire Sellers on Meesho from Gujarat
Ahmedabad, India’s only true e-commerce marketplace 2022 has been a very successful year for Meesho as we have achieved many new milestones in our mission to democratize internet commerce for everyone. This year we set three sales records, each surpassing its previous record, and value-seeking customers from across the country chose our low prices and wide range every day.
Industry-first initiatives such as the company’s zero commission and zero penalty have resulted in an increase in the number of MSMEs in Gujarat joining Meesho over the past one year. Over 2,000 sellers from Gujarat have become millionaires, while over 45,000 sellers have become millionaires in the last 12 months.
This year there has been a 40 percent increase in suppliers onboarding from the state, 60 percent of whom have started their e-commerce journey with Meesho. Top products preferred by buyers in Gujarat include bluetooth headphones and earphones, lehenga choli, smart watch, extension boards and cotton bed sheets.
As the appeal of e-commerce continues to grow across diverse geographies and socio-economic backgrounds, Meesho is accelerating access and fairness to its customer base across the country. Below are important highlights of how India shopped in 2022.
Our sellers are writing a clear story
● In the year 2022, our sellers will earn Rs. 3,700 crores have been saved.
● Digitization of SMBs across India: By 2022, Meesho has on-boarded 500,000 suppliers, 61 percent of whom are new-to-e-commerce and selling online for the first time.
India’s shopping prime time
● Sundays are for relaxation and in the year 2022 Indians have also done maximum online shopping on Sundays. Last year, Indians shopped online the most on Wednesdays.
● 8 PM was the prime shopping time for Mishaw customers every night. In the year 2021, the highest traffic was recorded at 2-3 pm.
● Millions of customers have used ‘Pipal Ka Pad’, ‘Bargad Ka Pad’, ‘Ata Chakki Ke Peechhe’ and ‘Near Water Tank’ as local landmarks to help delivery personnel. The accuracy of native navigation tools has been high.
Indians are taking care of themselves
● ‘Smartwatch’ was the second most searched product in the year 2022, indicating that Indians are shifting towards physical activities.
● Men’s attraction to grooming products is increasing, with more than 60 percent of orders coming from Tier 4 markets.
● Sanitary napkin orders from Tier 2 cities increased by 9 times, indicating how e-commerce is expanding reach to millions of women in India.

● With 148 sarees being sold every minute and demand from across the country, Indians’ love for the garment continues to grow.
● 93,000 T-shirts, 51,725 bluetooth earphones and 21,662 lipsticks were sold every day. Bluetooth earphones are preferred in Rajasthan, extension boards in Jharkhand, Bluetooth earphones in Haryana and body lotions in Assam.
