Bigang, The LAC has been a tense situation between India and China since the 2020 violent clash near Pangont lake in eastern Ladakh. Recently, an attempt was made to infiltrate Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh but was repulsed by the Indian Army.
In such a situation, there is a possibility that China will again plot an intrusion. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping interacted with troops stationed along the India-China border in eastern Ladakh through video conferencing and reviewed their war preparations. The official media gave this information here on Friday.
Xi Jinping addressed troops from the headquarters of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) under the Xinjiang Military Command at the border defense position in Khunjarab. According to a video shown in official media, Xi, the general secretary of the ruling Communist Party and commander-in-chief of the PLA, told the troops in his address how the border area is constantly changing and how it has affected the army.
He monitored their battle preparation during a video call, the report said. A soldier replied that they now guard the border 24 hours a day. Xi inquired about his condition. He also asked if he could get fresh vegetables in a remote area.
Official media reported that Xi asked the border troops about their border patrol and management work. He also honored some soldiers guarding the border and encouraged them to continue their efforts and contribute.
Eastern Ladakh is the region that witnessed a violent clash with the Indian Army in the Pangong area on 5 May 2020. Since then there has been a standoff at the border.
The two sides have held 17 rounds of high-level military talks on the standoff on the eastern Ladakh border, but no significant progress has been made in resolving many issues. India has clearly stated that peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is essential for the overall development of bilateral relations with China.HS1MS
