A LOYAL Aldi shopper decided to swap to M&S to see if it really is any cheaper – and was seriously impressed by some of their bargain essentials.
Gi revealed that while milk was the same price in Aldi, she was impressed by Marks & Spencer’s veg, claiming it was larger in size and had longer ‘best before’ dates.

The foodie, known online as @whatgabdid, regularly compares supermarkets to see which comes out cheapest, sharing the results with her 50,700 followers.
In a new TikTok video, she said: “Now when people are saying M&S is now cheaper than Asda and Aldi, you know I had to go and take a look.
“First of all, 65p for an avocado? And they’re pretty big as well. I’ll take it.
“I could not believe the value of the fruit and veg in here.
“That alongside the fact that the dates on the fruit and veg were really good, and the size of the fruit and veg were amazing as well.
“Took a look at the meat section. The quality is obviously better but the price is definitely higher.
“The milk is £1.30 which is what I pay in Aldi so the same. Likewise with the flour as well.
“Those soups are a luxury but let me tell you, they are amazing.
“Thought the tuna was priced very well, and there’s the famous fabric conditioners.
“I don’t know about anybody else but I love coming to M&S to get all of the gourmet picnic stuff.
“You know I had to check out the cakes. Hello Colin, hello Connie.
“Bread was 85p so we’ll see how long that lasts.
“Overall, not too bad.”
Fans loved her honest review, with the video gaining more than 5,300 likes and 182,300 views.
In the comments, other TikTok users shared their thoughts, with one writing: “Aldi are on a par with all the other supermarkets now!! Out priced themselves!!”
“A lot [of] their basic range of items are allot cheaper than anywhere else. I’ve got to admit their fruits last way longer than anywhere else,” another said.
Gi replied: “I was v impressed, i think im gonna try and do my weekly shop to see what £60 gets me!”
A third said: “i feel like m&s bread lasts me a lifetime, ive not once seen mold on it and i don’t use bread often so it’s my go to.”
Someone else put: “I’ve now done three shops from M&S. I’m spending about the same, but I’m getting more for my money. Meal prep & no waste!”
Although not all were impressed, with another adding: “What planet are people on? M&S is brilliant quality but it’s still easily 2-3 times the price of Aldi when it comes to a full shop.”
