DIC India Limited, a leading manufacturer of printing inks, innovative packaging solutions and related materials in the country, today inaugurated its state-of-the-art and latest toluene free plant ‘Optima’ for liquid ink production at Saikha in Bharuch district, Gujarat. Spread over a vast area of 92,500 square meters, the plant has the capacity to produce more than 10,000 tonnes of TF, KF/NTNK (toluene free/ketone free) liquid ink in two shifts in Phase-I. The plant will further manufacture value added and specialty products for local as well as global markets.
More than 100 employees will be directly employed by this new plant set up with a total investment of Rs 1100 million in Phase-I. The aim of setting up the plant is to meet the growing demand for toluene free and ketone free inks in the country.
With this new plant, DIC India is now expanding across India. The company has four other plants operating in Kolkata, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat (Ahmedabad) and Karnataka.
The strategic location of this plant in the heart of India’s chemical hub will enable the company to reach the North and West markets where the sector has the highest demand. This plant will have bulk production of standard and special TF, KF/NTNK.
Named as OPTIMA, the plant has been constructed with utmost care where modern technology has been used to meet the ever increasing demand in the country. The plant has been constructed in such a way that the future expansion needs of the company can be catered for. Optima plant will further strengthen the company’s export market business.
