Gandhidham. Indian Railways provides running room or rest room facilities to the railway crew members like loco pilot, assistant loco pilot, train manager etc., where they can rest after their duty.
These facilities are usually found at major railway stations and some junction stations or interchange points where crews sign on/sign off after their scheduled duty hours. Many amenities and facilities are provided in these running rooms, so that the employees can get proper rest and relaxation. These stations also provide a crew lobby where people like pilots, train managers start or finish their duty.
Ahmedabad Mandal's Gandhidham Integrated Crew Running Room is well equipped with many equipments and amenities. RRMS facility is available in this running room which saves pilot time, employees are also provided with concessional food and linen facilities. It has air-conditioned rooms for 20 railway employees and two women employees
It has bedding for employees, separate kitchen for vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, a dining hall, adequate toilets etc. There is also a meditation room with a pleasant atmosphere where employees meditate and calm the mind. Employees also enjoy reading their favorite books, magazines etc. in this building.
Facilities like crockery, and furniture and foot massagers etc. are also provided for train drivers who work long hours. So that they can get comfort like home. This running room is certified with ISO 45001:2018, 9001:2015,14001:2015 and AA 5S FI.
Any instructions regarding safety, security and punctuality received from the board or headquarters are passed on to the crew as soon as they are received, so that people can know about the problems of the pilots and solve them. All the employees get all the safety related information from the posters placed in the lobby. Also from time to time seminars are also organized with the families of the pilots and their problems are solved.
