(Agency) New Delhi, today is the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Atal Bihari Vajpayee breathed his last on August 16, 2018 at the age of 94.
President Draupadi Murmu paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary by visiting his memorial 'Sadaiv Atal'. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also visited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's memorial 'Sadaiv Atal' on his death anniversary and paid tribute by offering flowers. Along with this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the 'Sadaiv Atal' memorial to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary. PM Modi paid floral tributes at the memorial site of Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and party president and Union Minister JP Nadda were also present along with PM Modi. Rajnath Singh and JP Nadda also paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee by offering flowers at his tomb. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also paid tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on 25 December 1924.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister three times. He first became the Prime Minister in 1996 for a period of 13 days. He then became the PM for a period of 13 months from 1998 to 1999. After this, he held the post of Prime Minister for a full term from 1999 to 2004.
