Gujarat's athletes and sports facilities gearing up to host the 2036 Olympics
As part of the National Sports Day celebrations, a program was organized to felicitate nationally and internationally renowned sportspersons and various coaches of Gujarat under the joint initiative of Sports Authority of Gujarat and Gujarat Sports Journalists Association at Rajpath Club, Ahmedabad.
National and international renowned athletes and coaches Mr. Tejas Bakre, Mr. Varjang Vala, Anthony Joseph, Mr. David Kologa, Anil Patel, Mr. Pramesh Modi, Mr. Naman Dhingra, Mr. Jalap Prajapati, Mr. Mirant Italia, Mr. Vivan Shah, Mr. Bakhtiaruddin Malek and Shri Rudr Patel were felicitated.
On this occasion, Gujarat's first Chess Grand Master Mr. Tejas Bakre was honored with 'Lifetime Achievement' Award. Former Sports Minister of Gujarat Mr. Narahari Amin, present in the program, described his experiences as Sports Minister from 1990 to 1995. In the year 1993, while holding the post of Chairman of Sports Authority of Gujarat, he talked about seeing the future sportsmen of Gujarat and different sports progressing.

Director General of SAG Shri R. S. Ninama said that honoring the players is a very important initiative at this time. The government has left no stone unturned. In Gujarat, we have the name of best performing players upto international level. Sports training is imparted from government primary school only.
On this occasion, the Director of Information Mr. KL Bachani said that the sports world has got cooperation from all three sides i.e. administrative leaders, government officials and journalists. Narrating his personal experiences related to sports, he expressed the hope that such plans will continue.
On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the Indian Olympics Committee Mr. Ajay Patel said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream is to host the 2036 Olympics in Gujarat. For which such programs will play a very important role. The entire government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel is also working hard to promote sports in the state. He congratulated the journalists, players and coaches present.
The President of Sports Journalists Association Mr. Tushar Trivedi, Vice President of Sports Journalists Association Mr. Narendra Pancholi, Mr. Ripple Kristi Patron Mr. Hitesh Patel other members, editors of various newspapers and channels, journalists and dignitaries from the sports sector and invited guests were present.
