New Delhi, Along with the Gaza war, Israel is now also facing Hezbollah in Lebanon. Tensions are running high between the pro-Lebanon Lebanese Hezbollah and Israel. Both have escalated attacks on each other's borders, ignoring warnings from the international community.
In the same sequence, on Tuesday, the pro-Lebanese group suffered a major blow when its top commander, Ibrahim Muhammad Qubaisi, was killed in an Israeli airstrike. Hezbollah confirmed that Qubaisi was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
The attack was carried out on three floors of a six-storey building. This is the third Israeli attack on Beirut in less than a week. At the same time, Qubaisi is the first member of the group to be declared dead since the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensified.
The Israeli army has claimed to have killed the top commander of Hezbollah's missile and rocket unit in an attack on Beirut. The target of the attack in Beirut's Dahiyah suburb was Ibrahim Qubaisi, head of Hezbollah's rocket and missile department.
The Israel Defense Forces said Ibrahim Qubaisi was killed in the attack along with other top commanders. Ibrahim was a top Hezbollah commander of the rocket and missile unit. He was responsible for several airstrikes on Israel. Apart from this, in 2000, he kidnapped three Israeli soldiers and brutally killed them. Hezbollah has also confirmed Qubaisi's death.
Ibrahim Qubaisi commanded several of Hezbollah's rocket and missile units, including its precision-guided missile unit. The military reported that Ibrahim Qubaisi joined Hezbollah in the 1980s and held several other key roles, including a senior position in Hezbollah's operations department and the head of the Badr regional division.
Israel's attacks have terrified the Lebanese in just one day. People have set up refugee camps in schools. Also people are sleeping in cars and parks. Hundreds of people are trying to leave the country. Israel said late Tuesday that its warplanes carried out “massive strikes” on Hezbollah weapons and rocket launchers in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa area in the north.SS1MS
