Toronto, Canada has announced plans to increase the validity of its popular Super Visa – which allows current permanent residents and citizens’ parents and grandparents to visit them. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that from July 8, people with a super visa can stay in Canada for up to five years after entry.
Current Super Visa holders will also have the option of requesting an extension of their stay for up to two years while in Canada. This means that current Super Visa holders will now be able to stay in Canada for seven years in a row. According to IRCC data, an estimated 15,000 super visas are issued each year. This visa is a multi-entry visa valid for 10 years.
The IRCC announcement will bring another change that will allow selected international medical insurance companies to provide coverage to future super visa applicants. The Minister of Immigration of Canada will have the power to appoint these companies. This is what your parents or grandparents have to do before applying for a super visa.
Invite letter signed by you includes: Promise of financial assistance for the duration of their visit, list and number of people in your household, a copy of your Canadian citizenship or permanent resident document. Medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company: This insurance will be valid for one year from the date of entry into Canada, will provide 100,000 for minimum coverage, will be proof of paying medical insurance (quotes will not be accepted).
This is also mandatory: entry to Canada will be allowed, immigration medical exam will be taken. For the past few years, Indians have been at the top of the charts in terms of the number of invitations issued to become permanent residents and those admitted as permanent residents.
