(Agency)Melbourne, there is good news for those who want a visa to Australia or want to settle there permanently. Australia has raised the immigration ceiling which is likely to benefit Indians the most.
Due to the current shortage of skilled people in Australia, there will be a greater reliance on skilled immigration. The Australian government has modified the Temporary Skilled Shortage visa to allow permanent Australian residency.
These changes have been made to the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa, Temporary Graduate Visa and Working Holiday Maker Visa. All Skilled Workers Visa holders can now easily apply for Australian PR (Permanent Residency).
The Australian government has announced changes to three types of visas for people who want to migrate to Australia or who are already immigrants in Australia and want PR in the current financial year.
Temporary Skill Shortage Visa: As per the new amendment, the Australian Government has announced Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) subclass 482 visa holders. As on 31 March 2022 there were over 52,000 candidates under subclass 482 and subclass 457. Due to this, the possibility of applying for Australium PR was eliminated. But from July 1, these visa holders can apply for Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) visa.
For replacement visa the candidate should hold a temporary graduate visa which has expired after 1 February 2020. They must be outside Australia between 1 February 2020 and 15 December 2021.
The purpose behind the change in visa policy is to help candidates who have lost their approval due to Covid. According to an estimate, about 30,000 people have this visa. Hence, they will be granted visa extension based on qualification.
