London, The Indian team has once again failed to win the ICC trophy. Rohit Sharma’s team was deprived of the World Test Championship title for the second time in a row after losing to Australia by 209 runs. All eyes were on Virat Kohli on the final day in reply to a record target of 444 runs for victory but Scott Boland took two wickets in a single over to end India’s hopes of victory.
He first took the wicket of Kohli and then Jadeja. On the last day, India lost seven wickets within 70 runs in the first session itself and in the second innings the team was bundled out for 234 runs. After the defeat, the captain of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma, got angry with the ICC.
Speaking at the press conference, he directly questioned the cricket governing body, why the final of the World Test Championship is played in June itself. Along with this, he also raised questions on England’s hosting. Rohit said- June is not the only month of the year when Uzra final can be played, it can be played in February, March as well. Uzra finals can be played anywhere in the world, not just in England. Even in 2021, the final of the World Test Championship was held in England.
Then the match was played in Southampton. Then a match was played between India and New Zealand. Team India was also defeated in the match between New Zealand. On the first day of the match, not a single ball could be bowled due to rain. England also hosted the final of the World Test Championship 2023–25. ICC had already announced this. Next time the final will be played at the historic Lord’s ground.SS1MS
