The president of the oldest association of Indians in Canada said Indian students have very little knowledge of Canadian law. Due to this, these students and Indian-Canadians are facing huge difficulties. Indian students are killed in accidents and drowning in lakes. It is because they don’t know about Canadian law.
Many students are suffering from depression. In some cases, Indian students have also been found to have committed suicide. These students do not know who to ask for help if they face any problem.
When any student from India comes to Canada, most of the paperwork is done by the agents. As a result, they have very little knowledge of Canadian laws and regulations.
The expert said that the Indo-Canadian Chamber has asked the Immigration Minister to ask Indian students to sign an acknowledgment form when they take admission in a Canadian institution.
