Not relief but calamity is raining from the sky-Mumbai is on orange alert
New Delhi, After rains in various parts of the country, the weather is pleasant. Where the people have got relief from the heat as the atmosphere cools down, now the rains are also causing trouble for people’s lives. The Meteorological Department had to issue red and orange alerts in several states after heavy rains on Thursday. IMD had issued a ‘Red’ alert for heavy rains in the state for today.
The IMD has issued an Orange Alert due to moderate to heavy rains in Maharashtra’s capital Mumbai, while a Red Alert has been issued in Goa and South Goa. Over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, Gujarat and Northeast India, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Interior Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, West Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain is likely.
Not only this, the Meteorological Department also said that thunderstorms and lightning may occur at isolated places over West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Karnataka. On the other hand, after heavy rains on Thursday, people in other states including Delhi faced the problem of waterlogging.
After heavy rains on Thursday (July 6), nine places in Delhi were flooded, making life difficult for people. From Azad Market to Seelampur, the waterlogged people had to face a lot of trouble. Along with this, Pragati Maidan, Modi Mills, Rani Jhansi Road were jammed due to waterlogging.
Along with this, a similar situation was observed in Maharashtra as well, due to which the Meteorological Department declared an orange alert. Apart from this, the situation became uncontrollable after the rains in Goa.
