A DISGUSTED shopper has shared that visiting his local branch of the nation’s favourite supermarket was one of the ‘worst experiences’ of their life and has vowed never to visit the store again.
Aldi is a very popular supermarket and was voted the nation’s favourite supermarket in a 2023 YouGov poll.
The store was also recently named by Which? as the UK’s cheapest supermarket for the 16th consecutive month.

Richie Howie shared his experience via a video posted to his TikTok channel @teamrh.uk which he usually uses to promote his fitness brand.
The disgruntled shopper, who was visiting the shop for the first time, likened the store’s clientele to the cast of the horror film The Hills Have Eyes.
Richie’s next qualm with the budget retailer was that there was nothing he recognised in the store, as it does not sell well-known brands and only stocks own branded products.
He said: “I’d never heard of any of them in my life. It was like I was in a foreign country”.
After heading to the till Richie became annoyed that the end of the conveyor belt wasn’t long enough for him to bag up his shopping effectively.
“It was absolutely ridiculous”, he said.
Richie then headed to the exit store, relieved that his experience was over, but was shocked when “one more nightmare” was waiting for him.
As he went through the exit, he realised a woman had become trapped after trying to enter the shop through the exit.
He said the woman began to push the sliding door to try and get inside, and barged past him into the shop when he exited through the door.
“What the f** is going on with Aldi guys?”, Richie ended the video by saying.
Richie’s experience in his local Aldi was just a one-off and many Brits love Aldi and choose to shop there all of the time.
TikTok users raced to the comments section of Richie’s video to share their experience, with some users sharing their own bad experiences in the store.
One user said: “I hate Aldi with a passion, I come out with fear sweats. I’ve never had a good experience there.”
Another user added: “My wife got so sick of the panic at the tills, she has now accepted the higher bill, but more normal experience in Tesco“
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “By offering products that match the quality of the leading brands for a fraction of the price, more and more customers are opting to shop with Aldi.
“The price gap between Aldi and the traditional, full-price supermarkets is as big as ever and that’s why we’ve seen people switch and stick to Aldi in their droves this year, being impressed by our prices then amazed by our quality.”
