70-year-old Mohammad Ali Khan was serving his sentence in Kolhapur Central Jail. According to the information received, around 8 am on Sunday morning, all the prisoners gathered near the water tank. Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali Khan had an argument with other prisoners about some issue. In which Prateek alias Pillya, Suresh Patil, Deepak Netaji Khot, Sandeep Shankar Chavan, Rituraj Vinayak Inamdar and Saurabh Vikas Siddh removed the drain cover and hit Mohammad Ali Khan on the head.
Due to which he was seriously injured and collapsed on the spot. By the time he was taken to the hospital, he had already died. Security personnel reached the spot on hearing the news of the attack and arrested the assailants. After this incident, an FIR of murder was registered against five people at Juna Rajwada Police Station.
