Islamabad, A popular song from the film Umrao Jaan, 'In Aukyaan Ki Masti Ke Afsane Hazaran Hain' was seen in the Pakistani Parliament. When a woman MP said to the Speaker, 'Aap meri ekhon mein dekhen sir'. The speaker then commented that, 'No, my eyes could not see me'.
This mildly mischievous discussion is going viral on social media and some people are seeing 'romanticism' in it. Generally, the proceedings of the Parliament of any country become very boring and uninteresting.
But every now and then a light clash between MPs or between MP and Speaker becomes so interesting that it is remembered forever.
A similar mild incident took place in the Parliament of Pakistan in which a member of Parliament named Jartaj Gul told the Speaker that, 'My party leaders have taught me that one should look the other in the eye and talk. I can't finish my talk until you look me in the eyes and talk.
Please put on your glasses. I am a leader and have come to the House after winning by 1.5 lakh votes.' Speaker Ayaz Sadiq replied to this clash of Zartaj that, 'I am listening to you, but I cannot make eye contact with you.
It is not proper to make eye contact with a woman.' Jarataj retorted that, 'If you talk to 52 percent women in this way, only a few people in the House will be able to participate in the discussion.'
However, even after this clash, the Speaker avoided making eye contact with Jartaj Gul. This interesting video of the Pakistani Parliament is going viral on social media including Twitter and has received more than 1.3 million views. One user even wrote that, 'This video is very cool.'SS1MS
