The company authorities have increased the compensation to the families of the deceased by Rs. 10 lakhs. In the incident, the team of Director Industrial Safety and Health Department has taken into account the interests of other 4348 employees working in the company. The accident-affected CMS plant has undertaken the closure of one and the same.
Investigations so far revealed toxic gas leakage at the chloromethyl plant due to failure of the bonnet valve. The four dead and six other gas-affected workers were trapped in a nearby utility due to the direction of the wind. DISH is currently conducting a technical investigation
And efforts will be made to file a criminal case under the Factories Act against the company responsible for negligence and death of 4 people. On the other hand, the GPCB team will also submit its report to Gandhinagar in two days after visiting the company. After that, a notice of direction and penal action will be taken against the company.
