A joint initiative of Gujarat Press Academy, Gandhinagar and Regional Information Office, Ahmedabad today at AMA, Ahmedabad, Director Information K.L. A seminar on 'Writing-Skills and Journalism' was organized for journalism students under the chairmanship of Bachani.
Mr. Resung Chauhan got the first rank, Ms. Shweta Patel got the second rank, Ms. Neha Pondia got the third rank in the Safalya Gatha category category in writing skill. While in special article category, Mr. Umang Barot got the first rank, Ms. Reshma Ninama got the second rank and Mr. Minesh Patel got the third rank. Also, in the category of Natural Agriculture Cleanliness Story, Ms. Shraddha Tikesh got the first rank, Ms. Rinkal Parmar got the second rank and Mr. Vivek Gohel got the third rank.
In which senior journalist and editor Mr. Ajay Umat, Additional Director of Information Mr. Arvind Patel, senior journalist Mr. Ketan Trivedi and writer Mr. Ramesh Tanna guided the students about the various trends of journalism and the role of information department. On this occasion, talented Karma Yogis from various districts of North Gujarat Zone of Information Department were awarded in various categories for the best article, Safalya Gatha and Story of Natural Agriculture.
Giving topical guidance on this occasion, Information Director KL Bachani said that our articles should always be inspired by the spirit of Janakalyan. He added that innovation in writing is based on dialogue, contact and formula, the basic tenets of journalism. He said that the work of information account and journalists are parallel and close to each other. The Information Director said that despite the impact of AI technology, text is still present today, responsibly written text to reach the society becomes a new expectation for the society. The chief guest of the seminar and senior journalist Mr. Ajay Umt explained the importance of writing and creativity even amid the explosion of information and the increasing prevalence of artificial intelligence in the present times, saying that today due to the internet and social media, a lot of information is available, but due to this, the responsibility of editors has also increased. Today, the role of new media and internet has also become important in creating a referendum.
While the parameters of fact checking and news editing are constantly changing, will continue to change. In such a time, the content i.e. the text and the creativity in it will prove to be important. Even today, Info Khatu continues to do a great job of bringing out innovative details and popular information and stories from the hinterlands. For which he congratulated the entire information family.
Speaking on the various aspects of writing skills, Senior Writer Mr. Ketan Trivedi, present on the occasion, said that with the change in technology, writing is committed to three principles. Every writer's food should be reading, the weapon word and the trust of target readers. He added that, with technology, rich text is possible through reading, for which he urged constant new reading.
Author Mr. Ramesh Tanna shared his experiences on editing and getting positive details, said that writing is a chemical process of reaching self from society. He added that writing awakens the senses and reaches the heart of man. There are many stories around us, but to convey such stories and their positive effects to the society, it was requested to cultivate the habit of going deep and keep writing.
At the beginning of the program Mr. Himanshu Upadhyay, Deputy Director of Information, Ahmedabad gave a background to the writing and skills seminar, informed about its necessity and usefulness and thanked the participants.
The secretary of Gujarat Press Academy Shri Jayesh Dave said on the concluding occasion that such seminars bring excellence in Karma yogis. He said that such programs will be held in the future to make the operations of the Information Department more effective.
In this program, Regional Information Office, Ahmedabad, under the 'North Gujarat Zone Best Writing Competition', a total of nine Karma Yogis who secured the first, second and third ranks in various categories of Natural Agriculture, Special Articles and Saaflya Gatha were encouraged by awarding prizes at the hands of dignitaries.
