The central government reviewed the law and order situation in Manipur
The Home Ministry extends the issue of Afsopa in Dimapur, Neouland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kifir, Nocklak, Fake and Peren districts in Nagaland.
New Delhi,The Union Home Ministry has implemented the Armed Forces Special Rights Act (AfsPa) throughout Manipur. However, the boundaries of the three police stations have been kept out of it. At the same time, Afspas have been extended for the next six months in Tirp, Changalang and Longding district and three police stations of the state of Arunachal Pradesh. Nagaland has also been expanded. It has been implemented in eight districts and five police stations in five other districts of the state.
The decision will be effective for the next six months. According to the notification of the Central Home Ministry, after reviewing the law and order situation in the Manipur state, the Armed Forces (Special Power) Act, which will be used by section 4 of the Armed Forces, will be applied to the area of five police stations.
However, the police station areas of Manipur, which have not been implemented, include Imphal, Lambal, City, Singjami, Patsoi, Wangoi, Porompot, Hingang, Irilbung, Toubal, Bishnupur, Nambol and Kakching. At the same time, the Home Ministry has extended the deadline of Afspas in Dimapur, Neland, Chumoukedima, Mon, Kifir, Nocklak, Fake and Peren districts. Khujama, Kohima North, Kohima South, Jubja and Kejocha police stations in Kohima district, Mangakolabamba, Mokokchung-1, Longth, Tuli, Longchem and Anaki Sea Police Station have also been declared unhealthy.
