New Delhi, With the help of skipper Ken Williamson’s superb half-century and the aggressive batting of Abhishek Sharma and Nicholas Pooran, Sunrisers Hyderabad have put a brake on the Gujarat Titans’ winning streak in the 16th season of the IPL T20 cricket tournament.
In the IPL-204 match played on Monday, Hyderabad had a brilliant performance and recorded an eight-wicket victory over Gujarat. This is the first defeat of the Gujarat Titans team led by Hardik Pandya.
Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first. With the help of skipper Hardik Pandya’s aggressive half century, Gujarat scored 17 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Hyderabad won the match by 18 runs for the loss of two wickets in 19.1 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a good start in reply to the 19-run target.
The opening jade of Abhishek Sharma and skipper Kane Williamson gave the team a start as expected. The JD had a partnership of 8 runs in 4.5 overs. However, Abhishek was out after the set.
Rashid Khan gave a big success to Gujarat by dismissing Abhishek. He hit 4 off 6 balls with the help of six fours.
However, skipper Kane Williams batted brilliantly without taking any risks. He completed his half century. Kane Williams made 2 off 4 balls with the help of two fours and four sixes. The rest of the work was done later by the aggressive batting of wicketkeeper better Nicholas Pooran.
Flood hit an unbeaten 4 off 12 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes while Aiden Markram contributed an unbeaten 15 off eight balls. For Gujarat, Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan took one wicket each.
Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bat first. Gujarat’s start was disappointing. Matthew Wade tried to start with an aggressive estimate but could not play big innings. He shared a 3-run partnership with fellow opener Shubhaman Gill
