Isaiah bagged a silver medal in the Junior Women’s Double Trap Grand Prix 2021
More than 7000 athletes are going to participate in the 36th National Games to be held from September 29 to October 12 in Gujarat for the first time. Shooting competitions are to be held at Rifle Club and Crown Academy in Ahmedabad.
In which, a total of 16 players from the country are going to participate in the trap shooting events in the men’s and women’s divisions at the Crown Academy.
This time 16-year-old Yeshaya Hafiz contractor from Gujarat will also participate in trap shooting. Born on 21st March 2006, Yeshaya Hafiz Contractor started his shooting journey at the trap shooting range at Savli Taluka Rifle Association, Vadodara.
In his first competitive event, 38th Gujarat State Trap Shooting Competition 2019, Yeshaya bagged a total of 6 medals including 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze in trap and double trap junior, senior and team events. Then in 2019, Yeshaya also won gold in the shotgun event in the 7th West Zone Shooting Championship held at Vadodara.
Yashaya, who made trap shooting his life’s goal, managed to win gold in his 39th, 40th and 41st Gujarat State Shotgun Shooting Championships in three consecutive years.
Due to sheer determination, passion and love for the sport, Isaiah achieved the Double Renowned Shot Certification in Shotgun events at the 63rd and 64th National Shooting Championships.
At the 2021 Junior World Championships in Lima, Peru, Isaiah won a silver medal in the Junior Women’s Double Trap Grand Prix. Acknowledging this achievement, the Collector of Dahod honored Isaiah by conferring a ‘Certificate’ on 15th August 2022 during the 75th Independence Day celebrations as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ festival.
