New Delhi, The Indian cricket team has suffered a major setback before the ICIC T20 World Cup. The team’s veteran fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. He complained of back pain during practice before the first T20 match against South Africa. Now fast bowler Siraz Ahmed has been included in the team.
Bumrah missed the first match of the three-match series between India and South Africa on Wednesday. According to BCCI sources, now Bumrah may be out of the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia.
Regarding his injury, the board said on Wednesday that the medical team is monitoring him. A day after that, now the news is coming out that he is out of the World Cup. With Bumrah out of the squad for the series against South Africa, Mohammad Siraz has now been named in the squad.
The news was officially announced by the BCCI today. He was injured during the series on England tour. Since then he was in rehab and did not even play in the Asia Cup. He made his comeback from injury in the home T20 series against Australia in the same month.
He could play only two matches in this series. The T20 World Cup is to be played in Australia in October-November. Ahead of this big tournament, Australian veteran and former cricketer Mark Waugh has selected five players for the T-20 World Cup, who in his eyes can make a splash in the World Cup.
